     I.     APPROVAL OF MINUTES FROM LAST MEETING

    II.     REPORTS OF COMMITTEES

            A.      Band Banquet (Glenda Mitchell):  Band Awards Dinner & Dance will be May 14th, 7:00 p.m., Bearden Banquet Hall.  Working on menu selection & sending out requests for door prizes.  If you know of a business that would be willing to donate prizes, please contact Glenda Mitchell.

            B.      Band Camp (Madonna Gilmartin):  No report at this time

            C.     Bylaws:  No report at this time

            D.     Care Packages (Brenda Kane):  No report at this time

            E.      Chaperone (Rose Morford):  If there is a freshman or sophomore parent interested in being trained for head chaperone, contact Rose either by email (mikenrosehoskins1020@gmail.com) or by phone 209-0838.

            F.      Corporate Donations:  No report at this time

            G.     Finance (Patty Felker):  No report at this time

            H.      Fundraising (Patty Felker):

                     1.   Hosting the Knox County Honor Bands on February 18th & 19th.  We will be having a Hospitality Room for the directors and need people to sign up to bring food.  Also will have Firehouse Subs available for the kids to purchase at lunch on Friday. 

                     2.   HVA Winter Showcase will be Saturday, February 27th, 1:00 p.m.  We will be having a Hospitality Room for the directors and need people to sign up to bring food.

                     3.   HVA Winter Showcase program ads – the kids can sell program ads to help offset their band fees.  They will get credit for ½ of the amount they sell.

            I.       Nominating (Ruthie Anderson):  No report at this time

            J.      Photography (Jeanna Reynolds):  Please send in your pictures for the DVD.

            K.      Publicity:  No report at this time

            H.      Transportation (Pit Crew – Chris Harden): 

                     1.   David Weekley is pulling the trailer for Indoor Percussion this season.

                     2.   Knox County Honor Bands:  Will have to go to Cedar Bluff & Karns Middle Schools to pick up instruments on Wednesday, February 17th to be used for the Honor Bands.  They will have to be returned for classes on Monday.  Will need adult helpers.                                                

            I.       Uniforms (Julie Harden):  No report at this time

                    

   III.     BAND DIRECTOR’S REPORT

            A.      Solo & Ensemble Night, Tuesday, February 16th, 7:00 p.m.  The sections have been preparing in Master Classes, and some students have formed ensembles on their own.

 

            B.      Knox County Honor Band:  They will have chair auditions at 4:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, rehearse Thursday evening 7:00 – 10:00 p.m., rehearse Friday 9:00 – 4:30 p.m., with concerts beginning at 7:00 p.m. Friday night.

            C.     HVA Winter Showcase:  We have 14 units registered to compete.

            D.     We are in need of a grant writer to help us secure grants from corporations.  If you are interested, or know of someone who might be interested, please contact Mr. Clupper.

            E.      London/Paris trip March 25th – 31st:

                     1.   Name registered with EF Tours MUST match your passport or you will not be allowed on the plane.

                     2.   Will be flying in two groups – flight itinerary distributed.  Groups will meet up in London and join a high school group from North Carolina who will be touring with us.

                     3.   Adults already know their room assignments.

                     4.   Students will receive their rooming assignments at each hotel because of different hotel configurations. 

                     5.   Each tour participant received an EF Tours backpack to be used on the trip.

                     6.   There will be a MANDATORY meeting for all trip participants at the next booster meeting on March 9th to make sure we are all on the same page and to answer any last minute questions.
